How To Tuesday

First things first, I have a winner to announce from last week's "Guest Designer" giveaway. Thank you all so much for your comments. And the lucky winner is ...

Congratulations! Please email your full name and mailing information (including your phone number for shipping purposes) to pebblesincdt(at)gmail(dot)com and put "Guest Designer Winner" in the subject line.

Temperatures have begun to drop and the trees are showing all of the gorgeous colors of fall and to celebrate the change of seasons design team member Aphra Bolyer has an adorable Fall decor tutorial to share with us today.  Here's what Aphra had to say ... "Every year as soon as the calendar says October, I am ready to pull out all my Fall decorations and get to work on my mantel, table tops, front door, and entry way.  And I really like to add some homemade décor to the mix.  I made a cute pumpkin frame to decorate my entry way and today I’m going to show you how to make one too."

You will need the following supplies:  8” x 10” frame, paint, 5” x 7” mat, patterned paper, oval shape cutter or template, leaf die cut, twisted burlap, button, kraft tag, rub-on, coordinating chalks, and glue dots.

First, paint your frame the color of your choice.  I chose black because it covers so well.  I also dry brushed on a little brown.

Add Fresh Goods Come Again woodgrain patterned paper and mat (optional) inside the opening of the frame.

Next, you’ll need to cut out three 3” x 4” ovals from Floral Lane Memory Lane patterned paper.

Ink the edges with pumpkin colored chalk.  Layer two of them at a slight angle to each other and attach with adhesive.

Use foam adhesive to attach the third oval on top.

Cut a stem freehand from Floral Lane Just Because patterned paper.  Cut two leaves (either freehand or using a die cut machine) from Floral Lane A Little Hello patterned paper.  Attach to pumpkin with glue dots.

Cut two 12” lengths of brown twisted burlap and tie into a bow.  Attach on top of leaves with glue dot.  Add Welcome Christmas Wood Button on top.

Add Hello Run On to a small Kraft tag and attach to top of pumpkin.  Place back in frame and display!

I hope you find some time to create a little Fall décor for your home.  And be sure to look closely at your Pebbles papers to see how you might be able to use them for a variety of themes. Have a wonderFall day!
