More "In Stitches" Projects with Zoe, Ria, and Savitri

Design team member Zoe Nemburt created a beautiful grid design utilizing machine stitching on her layout.  Here's what Zoe had to say ... "Stitching on my layouts and cards was one of the first techniques I learned when I started to scrapbook, I like to always find different stitching techniques, whether it’s just making a stitched border or making a paper quilt. For this layout I Machine stitched and I also hand stitched the buttons onto the punched Butterflies. I had a ton of fun making this layout."

Design team member Ria Mojica used a variety of stitching techniques on this fun and colorful layout.  Here's what Ria had to say ... "One of my favorite subjects in elementary school was Home Economics (I hope none of my classmates see this, though). I loved cooking and sewing, but somehow, despite having a sewing machine right beside me in my scraproom, have not gotten to be BFFs with it.  So when I want to add some some stitching to my LOs, I rely on my trusty running stitches ... they come out perfect every time! On this LO I did some actual hand-stitching to draw attention to my photos, and some faux stitching with markers. One of the tricks I learned early on is to pierce holes in the paper before doing any actual sewing - it not only makes the actual pushing and pulling easier, it also helps to keep my work neat and orderly."

Design team member Savitri Wilder hand stitched several elements on this sweet card including the darling cloud.  Here's what Savitri had to say ... "I love stitching! It gives paper projects that small subtle dimension. Today I want to share this little card with a bit of stitched stems and clouds. I was going to freehand the cloud but then I remember the Tree House Sunset paper. So I trimmed a cloud out, traced it, and with my piercing tool created holes for my needle. While there are awesome templates (which I have and love) you can freehand or use a cut-out and give it a go. The cool part about stitching is that you don't have to have the perfect spacing. The needle holes for my cloud stitching I eye-balled and after all's done, the cloud looks just as nice as the stems which were perfectly spaced using my piercing tool template."
