How To Tuesday
First things first, I have a winner to announce from last week's "Guest Designer" giveaway. Thank you all so much for your comments. And the lucky winner is ...
Congratulations! Please email your full name and mailing information (including your phone number for shipping purposes) to pebblesincdt(at)gmail(dot)com and put "Guest Designer Winner" in the subject line.
Design team member Sarah Webb shares a fun technique with us today to create your own custom flower embellishments. Here's what Sarah had to say ... "Hello! Sarah Webb here to share one of the techniques I like to use to create my own flowers. Some lines of paper don't come with their own flowers, but I think would look great as flowers. I like to add a little stitching too, for extra detail. So, I pulled out the Floral Lane collection and played!" And here are Sarah's step by step instructions ...
First, gather up your paper, favorite border punch, and a flower punch or die.
Next, punch out 3 - 4 flowers. Pierce a hole in the middle of the flower and a hole towards the end of each petal of the flower.
Start by pushing the threaded embroidery needle up through the hole in the middle of the flower and push down the hole through the tip of the first petal.
Repeat until the embroidery floss extends from the middle to the tip of each petal.
Add a Candy Dot to the middle of the flower and round the petals to add a little dimension.
Add the flowers to your project.
I hope you enjoyed this little tutorial. For me, it's a great way to make sure the embellishments match the project perfectly! Cheers!
