How To Tuesday

Hi everyone!  I just got back from CHA late last night.  It was a great show and I'm so happy to report that the new Pebbles collections were VERY well received.  YAY!  I'll be posting the winners of our giveaways tomorrow.  In the meantime we have a very fun "How To" post today from the adorably sweet and talented Kryssi Ng.  Here's what Kryssi had to say ... "I often go crazy stocking up on holiday gift wrapping and often have nothing but plain kraft paper for other gifts, i.e. birthdays and showers. Which is fine because I simply embellish the kraft paper and the final product seems to delight the recipient more because they know that it's been personalized just for them ... makes it that more special! For today's project, I whipped up 1 hour before we had to head out the door to a double birthday bash, a brother and sister celebrating their joint birthdays. The New Arrival Boy and Girl collections worked perfectly for my personalizing needs as there's the pink for the girl and the blue for the boy. I decided to make something fun that the kids can enjoy -- pinwheels!"  And here are Kryssi's step by step instructions ...

We start out with our rather bland and boring kraft wrapped gifts and sheets of 12x12 paper.

I cut 3 strips of paper 1" in width.

Then you wrap the bands around the gifts as such.

From the same patterned paper, cut 6" squares. Fold corner to corner then using a scissor, cut into the folds and about 1/2" from the center. Repeat on all sides.

Taking a hole puncher, I used my Crop-a-Dile, punch a hole on the tips.

Taking a paper piercer, pierce a hole to the center.

Finally, select a brad and gather all the punched corners together to form the pinwheel.

Adhere to gifts!

Tip: To make the pinwheel more sturdy, you can adhere punched circles to the front and back of the paper in the center before you pierce the hole. It will make the pinwheel a lot easier to handle when you start gathering the sides together.
